DataFast vs GA4 for privacy and consent
Neither is cookie-free by default. DataFast's standard script uses cookies "for best accuracy", and its docs say you may need a cookie banner; its optional cookieless script uses a daily-rotating hash and is less accurate for revenue attribution over weeks or months. DataFast's public privacy policy doesn't state where data is hosted.
GA4 sets two-year _ga cookies; Google requires consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. GA4 drops EU users' IP addresses and collects their data on EU servers before forwarding it, and its US transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
DataFast vs Google Analytics pricing at three traffic levels
DataFast prices by monthly events on two plans; GA4 is free. Monthly billing, October 2026:
| Monthly traffic | 10K events/mo | 100K events/mo | 1M events/mo |
|---|---|---|---|
| DataFast | 10K events/mo: $9 Starter / $19 Growth | 100K events/mo: $19 Starter / $39 Growth | 1M events/mo: $69 Starter / $139 Growth |
| Google Analytics | 10K events/mo: $0 | 100K events/mo: $0 | 1M events/mo: $0 |
DataFast yearly billing is 10× monthly. Starter is 1 site and 1 team member; Growth is 30 of each. Going over quota keeps recording but locks the dashboard until you upgrade.
Revenue attribution setup: DataFast vs GA4
In DataFast you add the script, connect your payment provider, and pass DataFast's visitor ID into checkout metadata; payments then appear against the source, campaign and page of the visitor who paid. GA4 can report revenue by channel too, but you implement the purchase event with value and currency yourself (or via your store's GA4 integration), handle consent, and accept that payments processed off-site — a Stripe Checkout or Paddle overlay, renewals, upgrades — need extra work, such as the Measurement Protocol, to be attributed.
Who each one is for
DataFast fits indie hackers, info-product sellers and small SaaS companies who mainly want revenue per channel. GA4 fits businesses with ad budgets on Google, analysts who need flexibility, and teams who'd rather spend setup time than a subscription.
Moving from GA4 to DataFast
DataFast documents an import from Plausible but not from Google Analytics, so GA4 history stays in GA4. Run both for a few weeks, check that revenue lines up with your payment provider, then remove GA4 (and the banner, if nothing else needs it).
A third option: VisitTrack
Disclosure: VisitTrack publishes this page.
VisitTrack covers the same revenue-first ground — Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Polar and Razorpay attribution — with cookieless or hybrid tracking, funnels, journeys, Search Console keywords, session replays and heatmaps on every plan, from $5/mo for 10K events. DataFast vs Google Analytics: frequently asked questions
Is DataFast better than Google Analytics?
For revenue attribution with minimal setup, many founders find it better. GA4 is free and far more flexible, but tying payments from Stripe or Paddle to traffic sources takes custom implementation.
How much does DataFast cost?
DataFast Starter costs $9/mo for 10K events, $19 for 100K and $69 for 1M; Growth costs roughly double, with 30 sites and team members. There's a 14-day trial and no free plan.
Does DataFast use cookies?
Yes, its default script uses cookies, and DataFast says you may need a cookie banner. An optional cookieless script is available, with lower attribution accuracy over long windows.
Can Google Analytics 4 track Stripe revenue?
Yes, but not natively. You send purchase events with value from your site or server (for example via the Measurement Protocol); off-site checkouts and renewals need extra work to attribute correctly.
Can I import Google Analytics data into DataFast?
DataFast doesn't document a Google Analytics import as of October 2026; it documents an import from Plausible.
Which payment providers does DataFast support?
Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Paddle, Shopify, Dodo, WooCommerce and Easytool, plus a Payment API for others.
