VisitTrack vs Simple Analytics

Choose Simple Analytics if you want the strictest privacy model — no cookies and no visitor IDs at all, with data kept in the Netherlands; choose VisitTrack if you need visitor journeys, funnels that follow a person, and revenue attributed from your payment provider. Without visitor IDs, Simple Analytics can't connect a payment to the visit that caused it.

TL;DR — the verdict

Choose Simple Analytics if…

your privacy bar is "no identifiers of any kind," Dutch ownership and hosting matter, or a free plan for a few hobby sites is enough.

Choose VisitTrack if…

you need to know which referrer or campaign led to a signup or a payment, you want per-visitor journeys and replays, and you work in a team without paying per user.

What is Simple Analytics?

Simple Analytics is a privacy-first analytics company from Amsterdam. It goes further than most privacy tools: no cookies, no localStorage and no visitor IDs at all, with all data hosted in the Netherlands. Its pitch is "see the traffic Google Analytics misses," and it has increasingly targeted agencies, enterprise customers and white-label buyers.

It offers a forever-free plan (5 sites, 30 days of history), public dashboards, embeddable charts, events, funnels and an AI assistant for asking questions about your stats. The trade-off of having no visitor IDs is that anything that follows a person — unique visitors across pages, journeys, attribution of a later conversion — is limited by design. Simple Analytics doesn't document revenue tracking.

Why visitor IDs matter for revenue attribution

To credit a payment to the blog post or campaign that brought a customer, an analytics tool has to know that the person paying is the same person who arrived earlier. Simple Analytics deliberately keeps no visitor IDs, so it can count a landing and count a conversion, but not connect them.

VisitTrack keeps an anonymous id — a first-party cookie in standard mode, or a daily-rotating server-side hash in cookieless mode — and passes it to your payment provider at checkout. That's how a payment arriving through Stripe's webhook is credited to the original referrer, campaign and landing page. In cookieless mode, the link lasts a day unless your signup form sends the first touch back.
