Fathom alternatives

8 best Fathom Analytics alternatives (2026)

The best Fathom Analytics alternatives in 2026 are Plausible (open source, EU-stored, with funnels on Business), Simple Analytics (data kept in the Netherlands, free plan), Pirsch (cheapest entry price), Umami (free tier and self-hosting) and VisitTrack (funnels plus automatic revenue attribution). People switch from Fathom mainly because it has no funnels, no free plan, a trial that needs a card, and stores anonymized data on US infrastructure.

Why people look for Fathom alternatives

No funnels

Fathom counts events and conversions, but as of October 2026 it has no funnel reports, so you can't see where people drop off between landing page, pricing and signup.

No free plan, card-required trial

Fathom starts at $15/month for 100K pageviews, and its 7-day trial needs a credit card. That's fair value at 100K, but small sites with a few thousand visits pay the same as a 100K site.

Data stored in the US

Fathom anonymizes EU visitors on EU servers (its EU Isolation), then stores the anonymized data on US infrastructure. That's a defensible design, but some EU companies prefer all data stored in the EU.

Event values aren't revenue attribution

You can attach a value in cents to an event, but there's no connection to Stripe, Paddle or Lemon Squeezy and no report of revenue by source. Founders who want to know which channel brings paying customers need something else.

Not open source

Fathom's current product is closed-source and can't be self-hosted.

How we picked these Fathom alternatives

We’re VisitTrack, so we’re one of the options below — and we list our own drawbacks the same way we list everyone else’s. Prices and plan limits come from each vendor’s public pricing page and documentation as of October 2026; where a vendor doesn’t publish a number, we say so instead of guessing. We weighed:

  1. Same simplicity. Fathom users chose a dashboard that fits on one screen; we didn't recommend anything that loses that.
  2. Funnels. The most-requested missing feature.
  3. Data location. EU storage options for teams that prefer them.
  4. Entry price and trial terms. Free plans, trials without a card, and the cost under 100K pageviews.
  5. Multi-site pricing. Fathom includes 50 sites; we note site limits for every alternative.

The 8 best Fathom alternatives in 2026

1.Plausible Analytics

plausible.io

A lightweight, open-source, cookie-free web analytics tool with a single-page dashboard, hosted in the EU.

Best for: Fathom users who want the same experience with EU data storage and open source.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: Plausible is the nearest equivalent: one-page dashboard, cookie-free, Search Console, GA import. Data is stored in the EU, the code is open source, and funnels and revenue goals are available on its Business plan. Its Starter plan covers only 1 site, versus Fathom's 50. See Plausible vs Fathom.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Priced by monthly pageviews, monthly billing: Starter from $9/month (10K pageviews, 1 site), Growth from $14, Business from $19; at 100K pageviews Starter is $19 and Business $39, at 1M Starter is $69 and Business $139. Funnels, journeys and ecommerce revenue goals are Business-only. Yearly billing gives 2 months free. 30-day free trial, no card. The self-hosted Community Edition is free.

Key features

  • One-page dashboard: sources, pages, countries, devices
  • Goals, custom events and properties
  • Google Search Console keywords
  • Funnels, journeys and revenue goals on Business

Pros

  • Very simple to read
  • EU-hosted, cookie-free and open source
  • Tiny script (about 1–2.5 KB)

Cons

  • Funnels and revenue locked to the top tier
  • No session replay or heatmaps
  • Self-hosted edition lags the cloud on features

2.VisitTrack

visitrack.app

Privacy-first web analytics with revenue attribution built in: traffic, journeys, funnels and goals, plus every payment from your billing provider credited to the channel, campaign and page that brought the customer.

Best for: Founders who want Fathom's simplicity plus funnels and revenue by channel.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: VisitTrack keeps the one-script setup and adds funnels, journeys and automatic revenue attribution from Stripe, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle and Razorpay on every plan, from $5/month for 10K events with a no-card trial. Trade-offs: hosted-only, newer than Fathom, and a first-party id by default unless you enable cookieless mode. See VisitTrack vs Fathom.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Priced by monthly events (pageviews + custom events; bots are never billed), every feature on every plan: $5/month for 10k events, $19 for 100k, $59 for 1M, up to $179 for 10M. Yearly billing gives two months free. 14-day free trial, no card required; no free plan. A lifetime deal starts at $59 one-time.

Key features

  • Revenue by referrer, UTM campaign and landing page, refunds subtracted
  • Live visitors and 3D globe, journeys, funnels, goals, custom events
  • Google Search Console keywords and AI crawler tracking (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot)
  • Session replays (opt-in, sampled) and click heatmaps
  • REST API, CLI and an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

Pros

  • Answers "which channel brought paying customers" without a data warehouse
  • All features on the cheapest plan — you only pay for volume
  • Bots and AI crawlers filtered at ingest and never billed

Cons

  • Newer product with a smaller community than Plausible, Matomo or GA
  • Hosted only: no self-hosted or open-source edition
  • No permanent free plan, and the default mode uses a first-party id — cookieless mode shortens returning-visitor history to a day

3.Simple Analytics

www.simpleanalytics.com

A Dutch, cookie-free web analytics tool that stores no personal data and keeps all data in the Netherlands, with an AI assistant for questions about your stats.

Best for: EU businesses that want every byte of data in the EU.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: Simple Analytics stores data only in the Netherlands, collects no personal data, has a free plan (5 sites, 30-day history) and adds goals and funnels on paid plans. Paid plans start at €20/month for 100K pageviews.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Free plan: 5 websites, 30-day history, badge required. Paid plans in EUR: Simple €20/month for 100K pageviews (10 sites, 1 user), €30 for 250K, €40 for 500K, €60 for 1M, €160 for 10M; extra users €20/month. Yearly billing gives 2 months free. 14-day trial, no card.

Key features

  • Data never leaves the Netherlands
  • GA4 side-by-side proof of concept (enterprise)

Pros

  • No personal data stored by design

Cons

  • No revenue attribution

  • Higher entry price and per-seat charges

4.Pirsch Analytics

pirsch.io

A German, cookie-free web analytics tool with a small script, server-side tracking options and a Search Console integration on every plan.

Best for: Small sites that find Fathom's $15 entry price high.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: Pirsch starts at $6/month for 10K pageviews, is hosted in Germany, includes Search Console and unlimited retention, and imports Fathom data. Funnels require its Plus plan.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Priced by monthly pageviews: Standard from $6/month (10K) to $54 (1M); Plus from $12/month (10K) to $159 (1M), adding funnels, A/B testing and ecommerce revenue tracking. Unlimited retention and members. 30-day trial, no card.

Key features

  • Cookie-free dashboard hosted in Germany
  • Server-side and client-side tracking
  • Search Console on all plans
  • Funnels, A/B tests and revenue metrics on Plus

Pros

  • Cheapest entry price here
  • Unlimited retention and team members
  • Importers for GA, Plausible and Fathom

Cons

  • Funnels and revenue need the pricier Plus plan
  • No replays or heatmaps
  • Very small team

5.Umami

umami.is

An open-source (MIT), cookie-free analytics app you can self-host on Node and PostgreSQL, or use as Umami Cloud — now with funnels, journeys, attribution, session replay and heatmaps.

Best for: Developers who want a free, self-hostable Fathom alternative with funnels.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: Umami is open source (MIT), cookie-free and includes funnels, journeys and goals on every plan, with a free 100K-event tier on Umami Cloud.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Self-hosting is free. Umami Cloud: Hobby free (100K events, 1 site, 6 months retention); Pro $20/month (1M events, up to 20 sites, then $0.00003 per event); Business $200/month (10M events, session replays and heatmaps, 5-year retention). 14-day trial on paid plans.

  • Pageviews, referrers, UTMs and custom events
  • Funnels, journeys, retention and goals
  • First- or last-click attribution report
  • Session replay and heatmaps (self-hosted or Cloud Business)

Pros

  • Free cloud tier and an MIT self-host with nearly every feature
  • Simple, clean UI
  • Light script (about 2 KB)

Cons

  • Big jump from $20 to $200 for replays and heatmaps on Cloud
  • Revenue isn't automatic or broken down by source
  • Self-hosting means owning security and upgrades

6.DataFast

datafa.st

Revenue-first web analytics for indie makers and startups: traffic sources, goals and funnels, with payments from Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Paddle, Shopify and more attributed to the visitor's channel.

Best for: Makers who want revenue on the main dashboard.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: DataFast connects Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Paddle and more and shows revenue by channel. It uses cookies by default (unlike Fathom), and its Starter plan covers one site. See VisitTrack vs DataFast.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Priced by monthly events, monthly billing: Starter (1 site) $9/month for 10K events, $19 for 100K, $69 for 1M, $169 for 10M; Growth (30 sites, 30 members) $19 for 10K, $39 for 100K, $139 for 1M. Yearly billing gives 2 months free. 14-day trial, no card; no free plan.

Key features

  • Revenue by referrer, campaign and country
  • Funnels, goals, journeys and a realtime map
  • Search Console and X mention tracking
  • API, CLI and MCP server

Pros

  • Widest list of payment integrations
  • Built for founders: revenue on the main dashboard
  • Active, fast-shipping product

Cons

  • Default script uses cookies, so EU visitors need consent
  • Starter plan covers only one website
  • Infrastructure mostly outside the EU; no replays or heatmaps

7.Swetrix

swetrix.com

An open-source (AGPL-3.0) analytics suite combining cookie-free web analytics with error tracking, performance monitoring and, on Plus, session replay, feature flags and A/B tests.

Best for: Technical teams that want analytics, errors and performance in one open-source tool.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: Swetrix is cookie-free and EU-hosted, adds funnels, error tracking and Web Vitals, and syncs Stripe and Paddle revenue — more than Fathom offers, with a busier interface.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Priced by monthly events, monthly billing: Standard $19/month for 100K, $79 for 1M, $249 for 10M (10 sites); Plus $39/month for 100K, $179 for 1M, adding replay, feature flags and A/B tests. • Search Console and revenue from Stripe/Paddle
  • Replay, flags and A/B tests on Plus

Pros

  • Open source, EU-hosted
  • Analytics, errors and performance in one tool
  • Revenue sync from Stripe and Paddle

Cons

  • Trial needs a payment method
  • Replay only on Plus
  • Per-visitor revenue attribution needs extra setup

8.Matomo

matomo.org

The most complete open-source Google Analytics alternative: full web analytics, ecommerce, tag manager and, via premium features, heatmaps, session recordings, funnels and A/B testing.

Best for: Organizations that need much more depth and full data ownership.

Why it’s a Fathom alternative: Matomo Cloud (hosted in Germany) or a free self-hosted install gives you segments, ecommerce, funnels and attribution — far beyond Fathom, with a correspondingly steeper learning curve.

Pricing (as of October 2026): On-Premise Community edition is free (GPL-3.0); premium plugin bundles start at €275/month (Team, monthly billing). Matomo Cloud is priced by hits: $26/month for 50K, $42 for 100K, $204 for 1M, $1,900 for 10M (monthly billing; 2 months free yearly), with 30 websites and 30 users. 21-day trial, no card.

Key features

  • GA-style reports and segments, no sampling
  • Ecommerce, goals and multi-channel attribution
  • Heatmaps, recordings, funnels, A/B tests (premium/Cloud)
  • Search Console keywords (premium plugin)

Pros

  • Full data ownership when self-hosted
  • Cloud hosted in Germany

Cons

  • Complex interface
  • Self-hosted MySQL setups get slow at high traffic
  • Cloud and premium bundles are expensive

Fathom alternatives compared side by side

“Cookieless” means the tool can measure without storing an identifier on the visitor’s device; “revenue attribution” means payments from a billing provider are tied back to the traffic source automatically, not typed in as a goal value. “Partly” is explained in the cell.

How to switch from Fathom

  1. Export your Fathom data as CSV from Site settings; some tools (Pirsch, for example) import Fathom exports directly.
  2. Install the new script next to Fathom's. Both are cookie-free, so your consent setup doesn't change.
  3. Recreate your events and conversions with matching names, then build the funnels you couldn't build in Fathom.
  4. Run both for two weeks and compare visitors and top sources; small differences in bot filtering are normal.
  5. Remove Fathom's script, and if you used its custom domain for the script, delete that DNS record.

Our verdict

Plausible is the most natural Fathom alternative — the same philosophy with EU storage and open source, though with fewer sites per plan. Simple Analytics is the pick for strict EU data residency, Pirsch for the lowest price, and Umami if you want to self-host.

If the missing piece was funnels and revenue — knowing which source brings customers who pay — VisitTrack includes both on every plan.

Fathom alternatives: FAQ

What is the best alternative to Fathom Analytics?

Plausible is the best alternative to Fathom for most people: it's equally simple and cookie-free, stores data in the EU, is open source, and offers funnels on its Business plan. VisitTrack is the best choice if you also need revenue attribution from Stripe or Paddle.

Does Fathom Analytics have funnels?

No. As of October 2026 Fathom supports custom events and conversions but doesn't offer funnel reports. Plausible (Business), Umami, Simple Analytics, Pirsch (Plus) and VisitTrack all have funnels.

Is Fathom Analytics GDPR compliant?

Fathom is designed for GDPR compliance: it doesn't use cookies, anonymizes EU visitors on EU servers before storage, and stores no personal data. The anonymized data is stored on US infrastructure, which some EU organizations prefer to avoid. This is general information, not legal advice.

How much does Fathom Analytics cost?

As of October 2026, Fathom starts at $15/month for 100K pageviews with 50 sites, $25 for 200K, $60 for 1M and $200 for 10M. Yearly billing gives two months free; the 7-day trial requires a card.

Is there a free Fathom alternative?

Yes. Simple Analytics has a free plan (5 sites, 30-day history), Umami Cloud has a free 100K-event plan, and GoatCounter is free for reasonable use. Umami and Matomo are also free if you self-host.

Can Fathom track revenue?

Fathom lets you attach a monetary value to events, but it doesn't integrate with payment providers or attribute revenue to traffic sources. VisitTrack and DataFast connect directly to Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy and Polar for that.
